The suite is very popular, but you really only see Tchaikovsky’s complete ballet The Nutcracker in the theatre. The Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko brings it to the concert hall.
Listening to ballet, is it possible? Of course, especially with the imaginative music Tchaikovsky created to accompany the story. Close your eyes and be transported to Christmas Eve at a happy family with presents around the Christmas tree, a nutcracker defeating the evil mouse king, and a beautiful prince taking the daughter of the house to Candy Land.
