Abel Selaocoe & Ensemble Resonanz (P)

Abel Selaocoe

Ensemble Resonanz, Abel Selaocoe, Sidiki Dembélé and Saerom Park.

Selaocoe moves between many genres and styles, forging links between Western and non-Western musical traditions. Together with Ensemble Resonanz – renowned in Hamburg for their ‘urban string’ series – he presents a programme brimming with virtuosity and brilliant improvisations. His performances, featuring vocals and body percussion, have inspired Kate Moore to compose a concerto for cello and voice. This afternoon sees the world premiere of this work, in which Abel Selaocoe plays, sings, growls and hums!
